Finishing

Finishing is the final step in the manufacturing process and there are many benefits to it. Surface finishing is a great way to improve the appearance of a part, protect it from the environment and to introduce an additional mechanical property to the substrate.

Choosing a Metal Finishing Process

While you will likely choose your metal finishing based on appearance, there are other factors to consider. Cost is a major aspect as some are higher in price due to delivering additional benefits. Other considerations are the metal you use to manufacture your components.

Harder metals will require more intensive work than softer metals, and this may affect the overall production lead-time. You can speak with our team to understand the benefits of each finish before making a final choice.

We provide a wide range of options for finishing your parts.  The most popular are:

  • Chrome Finishing
  • Zinc Plating
  • Powder Coating

Some processes you should consider:

Anodizing: This is an electrochemical finish that enhances aesthetics, improves durabilty, and improves resistance to hard environments. You can choose from Chromic Anodise, Sulphuric Anodise, Gold Anodise, and Hard Anodise.

Powder Coat: This is a cost-equivalent to spray paint finish. It is compatible with all metals and offers greater impact resistance.

Bead Blasting: This will add a matte finish to a CNC machined component and in many instances will enhance the cosmetic finish of components.
